Rugby Bits: Ding Ding! 6 Nations Round 2

Rugby Bits Ep2 - opening still

Round 2

After an explosive start to the 6 Nations last weekend, we couldn’t be more excited for Round 2. Will Wales or Scotland bounce back from defeat last weekend. Will England maintain their perfect record against Italy? Will France challenge the Champions in Dublin?

England v Italy

England are the only 6 Nations team to have the privilege of saying they have never lost to the Italians. Although it seems unlikely this will change given the form of the team that beat Wales last Friday (Stuart Lancaster has picked the same squad to face Italy), what makes the 6 Nations exciting is the surprises it throws up. Just don’t expect one from this match up. After a big away win, England have their eyes on the grandslam. rugbstore.co.uk prediction: England 38 – 8 Italy

Ireland v France

The other games this weekend are harder to call and should make for great spectacles. The tightest match up of the weekend, Ireland v France promises to be an explosive match. Ireland have the benefit of having several key players match fit once again for the fixture including Jonny Sexton, Cian Healy and Sean O’Brien who injured himself minutes before kick off last weekend.  With both teams being hot contenders for the championship, this game could prove vital to the whole tournament. rugbstore.co.uk prediction: Ireland 18 – 13 France

PO'C ready to tell any opposition to jog on.

Scotland v Wales

Greig Laidlaw has said his team is ”out for revenge” on Sunday against Wales, who beat Scotland 51-3 at the Millenium Stadium last year. It won’t be an easy task going against a Wales, who are looking for to restart their championship claim after last weeks setback. It is likely Wales will now need to win all of their away matches and their remaining home game against Ireland to have a chance to lift the trophy. It’ll be hard fought on both sides but rugbystore.co.uk prediciton: Scotland 21 – 18 Wales
